Does a Good Morning America interview mean a music video/single/anything other than a snippet is on the way? Hopefully. While on the London leg of the Mrs. Carter World Tour, ABC’s Amy Robach sat down with Beyonce for a 4 minute interview where Mrs. Carter talks her role in Disney’s animated film Epic, Blue Ivy, and her “beautiful” albeit super controversial trip Cuba. During the interview, Beyonce responds to Robach’s probing (J/K!) questions with very Beyonce answers– here are the note-worthy quotes from Mrs. Carter’s sit down in London.
On being honored to portray lesser known Queen Tara in the upcoming Disney Film, Epic
“You know, I was so honored when they asked for me to do this role. And I was actually pregnant at the time.
On using Epic to help rack up those cool points before Blue Ivy turns 2 and gets super judgey of her TOTALLY EMBARRASSING MOM
And I thought, ‘You know, by the time this comes out my daughter will … understand it’s my voice and what an incredible, cool point.”
Epic was more of an intense drama for Bey
“It has so much depth. You know, it’s so emotional. And I literally, I was crying when I did the voice over. And it was the first thing I did after giving birth. And there’s a scene where I pick the pod. And literally there were…tears falling.” It was like…you know, I imagined seeing her (Blue Ivy) for the first time.
On her trip to Cuba with Jay-Z and Beyonce’s reaction to the controversy (because we’re well aware of Jay-Z’s ‘Open Letter‘)
“You know, it was such a beautiful trip. I met some incredible children. I visited some incredible entrepreneurs. And it was really, it was really educational for me.
Backlash? From American politicians? About flying out of the US to a communist country? NO WAY!
I learned so much about so many people and the country, and it was actually quite shocking.”
Contrary to Beyonce’s reported crazy tour-bus demands, Beyonce says she likes the simple things in life…LIKE STORE BROUGHT PRESS-ON NAILS!
“At the end of the day you’re the same exact person. I still like the simple things. I have on my press-on nails right now.
But don’t get it twisted, your name is not Beyonce and you’re still not about that life.
I have on my store-bought press-on nails. But my color, my paint is professionally done.”
Don’t come for Blue Ivy, and ALSO: Beyonce reveals she wants more beautiful Jayonce-bred babies
“I would like more children. I think my daughter needs some company. I definitely love being big sister…
And I am very protective. I just want to make sure that she can have a healthy, safe, normal life…in the back of my mind, she’s my priority. And life is completely different now. I feel really, really just lucky that I can still do what I love, and now have a way bigger meaning. And that’s to be her mother.”
