MTV Says Hello Brooklyn For The 30th Annual VMAs
MTV’s on the Brooklyn bandwagon, y’all! On Monday, the channel officially announced that its VMA show will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center this year. Though the blockbuster awards show has taken place in LA for the last 29 years, MTV decided to return to New York because, well, DON’T THEY ALL? BK borough president Marty Markawitz told MTV: “Now, it is only fitting that the first time Brooklyn will ever host a major awards show, we are welcoming the most exciting and talked about spectacle in the music industry…” but will they welcome a Biggie hologram?!! Because that’s the type of spectacle we need to see go down during MTVs BK VMAs, premiering August 22. (Via: MTV)
To add some excitement to an otherwise sleepy debut single, Robin Thicke enlisted a bevy of models including Emily Ratajkowsk for the “Blurred Lines” video–and they’re topless. In the video, Thicke is joined by Pharell Williams and T.I who dance with the ladies in between their verses in front of a white Terry Richardson-inspired backdrop. Thicke is currently working on his yet-to-be-titled sixth studio album. But will it be better than JT’s 20/20?
