Listen + Download: Hodgy Beats and Domo Genesis: ‘Tang Golf’

The Odd Future collective frequently gets compared to another family of rappers that once shocked the world: the Wu-Tang Clan.  Whether the L.A. rappers deserve this honor has been hotly contested, so the fact that OFWGKTA members Hodgy Beats and Domo Genesis decided to drop freestyles over GZA’s 4th Chamber instrumental is pretty ballsy.  Not only do they take on this classic ‘Tang track, they kill it.  If these kids keep up with it, they could very well rise to the Wu’s level.  Listen and download below!

Listen + Download: Childish Gambino ‘Freaks and Geeks’ (Star Slinger Remix)

Donald Glover is a versatile fellow.  The actor writes for and stars in NBC’s Community, and now he has a legit rap career under the name Childish Gambino.  Freaks and Geeks sees Glover packing punch lines on top of punch lines, and Star Slinger’s remix thankfully keeps his rhymes intact.  These two artists are both relatively green, but they create such a unique sound together that it’s got us praying for further collaborations in the future.  Check out the remix below, and grab Childish Gambino’s latest EP (featuring the original version of Freaks and Geeks) at Glover’s site.

WATCH: Broken Bells ‘Heartless Empire’

In this clip, Broken Bells are accompanied by five extra band members to perform the last track off of their Meyrin Fields EP.  The bare, live performance setting makes Heartless Empire sound less like a Broken Bells song and more like something singer James Mercer would have released with his band the Shins, which is perfectly OK with us.  The other half of this duo, producer Danger Mouse, can be seen playing drums in this video.  Watch the video below and buy the Meyrin Fields EP on iTunes.
