Contrary to popular belief, the Lower East Side is not a borough. Sure it seems like an entirely separate world – the streets are still party central at 4am and grunge continues to be the new black – but when all’s said and done, the LES is Manhattan. So in our endless search of the most interesting (and dopest) kids in the City, we stumbled across Lauren, a 20 year old SVA sophomore. Born and bred in NYC, she’s the only chick we know who can make garters a must-have in 20 degree weather. And if you couldn’t tell the combat boots, leather biker jacket and flag collectively scream LES-style aka grunge-Americana. Why are we starting to feel a style revolution coming on?
