"south african by nationality, new yorker by mentality.
 nerdy tendencies, ubiquitous personality."

I’m Ulungile Magubane.
[oo-loong-ee-leh Mah-goo-bah-neh]

Call me “Lu”.

Simply said, “swagger” is the distinct way in which people carry themselves.

Tell me something I don’t know, B*%$#!

So…who am I?

womp womp

An eccentric-fantastically awkward-mismatched-colour crazy-80s loving-harrypoter/winniethepooh/spongebob obsessed-south african-new yorker.

I eat rice cakes and ice for snacks.

I recycle by wearing bottle caps on my ears.

I wear combat boots, I rock flowy dresses, I sport faux leopard fur coats and splash every outfit with something authentically South African.

I’m a crazy mother f*$@%r and I’m cuckoo for vibrant colours and personalities.

My style?

Undefined. I just wear what I like—my look changes with each outfit, but my style generally screams that I wish I was alive in the 80s…yeah that’s my style!

Swagger”—it all comes down to the streets and the people who inhabit this intangible place. I’d like to think I’m one of them.

This summer, follow me as I fuse my New Yorker mentality with my Johannesburg roots, discovering street fashion and culture in Johannesburg, South Africa. Follow me as I show my fellow South Africans, that in New York, WE GO HARD!

It’s about to be a wrap!

PS: like most artistically inclined people, i have a blog too :) ulungilemagubane.blogspot.com
